A novelty song I suppose, with a wee bit of humor.

Vegetarian Blues

Well I won't eat anything with a face
It won't pass my lips if there's even a trace
I ate my last burger about two years ago
I don't even miss it, it just goes to show
That I've only begun to pay my dues
So I can sing the Vegetarian Blues

I feel better than I did before
I stopped being a carnivore
I feel really good and I'm resting well
I've reached the pinnacle of intestinal health
You can too, if you choose
You can sing the Vegetarian Blues

Well I'm the same as you, I still use a fork
So pass the beans but just hold the pork
We all bleed and we all bruise
And that's why it's called the Vegetarian Blues

Everywhere I go there's people serving me meat
So it's just the side dishes that I eat
I can't trust soup in restaurants
Cause even the vegetable's got beef broth
Well I read the ingredients to get my clues
That's why I sing the Vegetarian Blues

I can't eat jello cause I've seen the proof
That gelatin's made out of animal hoofs
All of life's questions come down to this:
Do I or don't I want to eat fish?
Well I'm a hypocrite with my leather shoes
That's why I sing the Vegetarian Blues
